National Apple Day: Dutoit Agri show thanks to Western Cape hospital staff
Largest produce provider in the country puts local doctors and nurses in the spotlight on this special day
This National Apple Day (21 October), Dutoit Agri is saying “An apple a day makes the doctor okay” with a small token of appreciation to five hospitals in the Western Cape. Over 3000 bags of apples were sent to selected hospitals along with a note of kindness reading ‘Heroes Work Here.”
“We admire the hospital staff who have been fighting this pandemic relentlessly and wanted to share something sweet and healthy with them on this special day,” said Gysbert du Toit Marketing Director of Dutoit Agri.
Hospitals and staff who received donations of apples included: Paarl Provincial, Karl Bremer, New Somerset, Stellenbosch Provincial and Ceres. Dutoit’s marketing manager, Karien Basset and ambassador, Minki van der Westhuizen were on hand to assist with the delivery of apples.
“This was a lovely surprise,” says Dr Lawson Eksteen from Stellenbosch Provincial. “We are thankful for this thoughtful gift.”
